MilSim, an abbreviation for military simulation, and refers to live-acted simulation of armed conflict scenarios conducted by civilians for entertainment/sporting purposes.
MilSim includes activities that strive to provide an experience of combat, or military service, without planning to actually engage in real conflicts. This style of MilSim is a physical shooting sport with an emphasis on realism, based on military scenarios and team tactics; historical reenactment of past military battles; a focus on stylistic imitation of a military era, such as cosplaying. Airsoft guns are used commonly in MilSim due to their cosmetic realism, satisfactory external ballistics, compatibility with genuine firearm accessories, and inexpensive ammunition.
Japan MILSIM is a Tactical Airsoft Community unit in Japan with squads based throughout the Kanto region. Originally conceived in 2017 by former military personnel, Japan MILSIM has continued to focus on Military Simulation (MIL-SIM) and ideals set by the team’s founders. Members meet regularly on weekends, playing at multiple airsoft fields around the Kanto region.
